Population Aging

Population Aging

Age Friendly

What do we do?

Population aging contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of Ecuadorian seniors. The project develops around three fundamental axes: (1) the generalization of the use of a holistic care protocol in primary health care centers, (2) the development of a national network of age-friendly cities and communities with older adults, and (3) the production and distribution of trainings for senior caregivers.

How do we do it?

Building multidisciplinary and triangular (academic -public-private) partnerships within a holistic and inclusive framework including clinical, social, and mental health care, centered on older adults as individuals rather than patients.

Why do we do it?

To contribute to age-friendly change, and constitute Ecuador as a South American model of social sustainability ahead of global aging.
