Clean Water

Clean Water

What do we do?

Provide clean water to communities who live in vulnerable conditions and below the poverty line throughout the three main regions in Ecuador: Andes Highlands, Pacific Coast and the Amazon region.

How do we do it?

The group of USFQ Engineers Without Borders (students and USFQ-ICV professors) in partnership with the Water Ambassadors Canada organization provide and implement water chlorinators in the communities and provide maintenance training to community leaders.

Why do we do it?

Water is essential for human life. However, around 1/3 of the world’s population does not have access to clean water and around 2/3 of the world population do not have safe sanitation services. For this reason, as part of the university´s social responsibility, initiatives, we aim to solve the problem of clean water access in low-income communities through civil engineering knowledge and application.
